Wire Tree · How To Make A Wire Tree · Beadwork and Wirework on Cut Out + KeepWire Tree Sculpture204,74015127Introduction: Wire Tree Sculpture This will show you how to do a beautiful artwork in less than an hour. Almost free to do, this is a great gift idea, or make one for your being. Step 1: What You Will Need All these items are really cheap, or FREE!!! wire (I used steel wire I found the other day, but any bare wire works) Needle Feeding Optional items Base to ride in (I used a rock) Gloves (recommended in heavier guage wire) Decorations (and adhesives of some kind if necessary)Step 2: Cut the wire You want your wire to be at least 8 inches long, so you have space to turn and fold later. I did it about 14 inches long, wanted a bigger tree. Step 3: Keep the cut! You'll need a few pieces of wire. It's a good thing if they vary a little length. Just eye it out while you go, using an earlier piece as a judge of length. You're not going to go perfectly here, I think it's part of why this is so fun. Step 4: Group and start forming Well, I'm out of cable, so I guess I'm done... I have 21 cut pieces of that ball, not bad. For the thicker wire, gloves go well for this. grab the cable in a lot and literally turn the center a few times. You'll have an uneven spiral. This will be the tree trunk. Step 5: Forming the branches then you have the twisted tree in the center. Start splitting the wires. It's easier to split into 2 big branches but you can do it literally whatever you want. Take your wire groupings and twist them in a way similar to what you did by the trunk. Step 6: Maintain division and exchange As you did in the main branches, you divided the wires and twisted those groupings. As the groups become smaller, you will begin to see a form of naked tree emerge. Split and twist to You have individual wire branches in the different directions. Fold your branches in different directions to fill the desired shape. Step 7: Do you have the upper half, now what? Now it's time to shape the roots. Not much to it, just apply the same method above to the lower half. Flat your roots with your hands or your pliers. At this point, your tree is made. All that's left is a little personalization. Step 8: Presentation For this specific tree, I used a flat-bottomed rock (I think it's granite) from the courtyard of my apartment. All I did was put the tree on the rock, take my pliers and bend the roots around. I covered them at the bottom so that the tree doesn't ruin the skin in which it ends. I've also used flower pots with sand, bonsai bars, it doesn't matter. Pick something that you want to use and go with it. Step 9: Finishing touches This tree still felt that it needed something else. It happens that I have a piece of red aluminum foil from a pack of cigarettes that my friend went to my house, so I quickly dug a crane of origami and hit it to a branch. You can decorate it any way you want. Some ideas are beads, buttons, soda tabs, even hang your jewelry on it. There you go. A metal sculptor that's all yours. Snazzy. 5 people This project! How many meters of copper wire do I need for a tree? 8 years ago Hi. How many meters of copper wire do I need for a tree? 8 years ago In which I used discarded copper wire... removed the rubber coating, and started to twist like you said. I also sold some sections to keep in place. Great idea! 10 years ago You think it would be fabulous in copper wire? Response 10 years ago Especially if copper gets green over time, that would be beautiful! 11 years ago in My grandfather made one of these, but polished the amethyst and hit the branches as leaves. It's really great. Response 11 years ago on That sounds beautiful, I might have to prove it, I have some citrine that would work. 11 years ago on Do you think this would work using hangers? Response 11 years ago in I don't see why not, it could be a little cool with all the different colors! 12 years ago in What is the best caliber wire to use and any suggestions where to find color handicrafts wire? Response 12 years ago in the painting of your car Response 12 years ago on That will work, like spray paint the finished piece? Response 12 years ago in Yup Response 12 years ago In which I would say that the stores of jewellery supplies, or the craft shops, I have a place called Hobby Lobby near me that sells a 22-caliber wire that works well for more intricate, the last wire I bought there in colors was green forest and red orange blood! Small things, but a little expensive. 12 years ago on Great Instructions :) I think I'm going to do it with wires with the same widths, but different colors (Greek, silver and one that changes colors a little like gasoline in the water, only darker) 12 years ago on Thank you for the comments. I've done them with wire as thin as 22 guage, and you're right, you can be incredibly detailed. Those were copper in quartz sold of gold, and sold quite well to offices around the city. :) 12 years ago in poi_pai, this looks so cool! How instructible! I wonder if you could use different wire calibers on the same tree to get more detail; smaller branches, branches, etc. I love this and I'll prove it; it looks great!© 2021 Autodesk, Inc.
